MANY OF THESE JUDGES END UP ON THE BENCH VIOLATING THE CIVIL RIGHTS OF PEOPLE OF COLOR MANY PEOPLE LOSE THEIR HOMES AS BANK ATTORNEYS ARE ABLE TO DO WHAT THEY WANT IN FORECLOSURE PROCEEDINGS UNDER JUDGES WHO ARE NOT VOTED BY THE PEOPLE.

Michael F. Otto is an associate judge of the Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois.[1] He was first appointed to the bench as a circuit judge by the Illinois Supreme Court to a term effective February 15, 2012, and expiring in 2014.[2] He then ran for election to the Cook County 9th Subcircuit in 2014 but lost in the primary. [3] In April 2014, Otto was appointed as an associate judge for the Cook County Circuit Court.[4] He was reappointed in 2015 to a term that expires on June 30, 2019.[5]

Education

Otto attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before earning a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. He received his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis.[6]

Career

Prior to his first judicial appointment in 2012, Otto worked as a litigator at the law firm of Jenner & Block LLP. Before that, he served the Illinois judiciary for over a decade, clerking for justices of the Illinois Appellate Court and the Illinois Supreme Court.[6]

Primary: He was defeated in the Democratic primary on March 18, 2014, receiving 9.9 percent of the vote. He competed against Abbey Fishman RomanekMichael Alan StromBrian Alexander (Illinois) andThomas M. Cushing.[3][7][8]
